Share a story about the furthest you’ve ever traveled from home.

It all started from a sentimental little thing.😅

My brother was excited to embark on a new journey with a job in Japan, but he first had to attend a 3-month workshop in the country’s capital region. It just so happened that I was traveling nearby, so he suggested we meet at the airport for dinner before I left the country.

My brother arrived at the airport eagerly awaiting our meal together. But with my tight schedule, our reunion was limited to a quick exchange of greetings before I had to leave. My brother was visibly disappointed and, in a moment of frustration, complained to my mother about my brief visit, souring the experience for both of us. He went sulking.

Several months later, after my brother completed his workshop, he left for Japan to begin his new job. But I couldn’t shake the memory of his disappointed face at the airport.

In the days that followed, my friends decided to plan a trip to Japan. I jumped at the chance to join them.  One of the main reasons I joined them was to see my brother, to put his disappointment to rest.

We met at Kobe Harbor, a picturesque setting against the sea. The moment my brother saw me, his face lit up with joy.

After meeting by brother, my friends and I went on a journey to explore the beauty and culture of Japan. Together, we visited the bustling cities of Osaka, Tokyo, and Kyoto, taking in the sights and sounds of this vibrant country.

But the highlight of our trip was visiting the Shibasakura Garden and Tanuki Lake, where the breathtaking landscape of Mt. Fuji stood tall in the distance. Amidst the sea of pink Shibazakura flowers, we were awed by the majesty of the mountain, its towering presence a symbol of Japanese pride and culture.

And that’s the furthest I have traveled away from home. 😊
