The Legacy of Rembrandt

I might sound like an old soul when I say Rembrandt is first in my list. He is remarkable and renowned in his own craft. However, he was not much talked about in one of my art classes years ago. I wonder why! Perhaps most of my art teachers are lovers of Picasso, Van Gogh, and Da Vinci. These artists are additional to my list.

I am impressed with the emotional exuberance of baroque paintings like that of Rembrandt. The depiction of scenes from the scriptures:

Other scenes of life he created also invite reflection and pondering. I like paintings that makes me think and stirs my curiosity. Sometimes we don’t pay attention to small things like a painting on the wall. This changes when we unravel the essence of its story. Discovering deeper meanings of a work of art makes us realize how much we are yet to know.
