A Personal Story on Kayaking Mishaps
During a trip to a province in Cambodia, I decided to go kayaking with my friend who was quite the swimmer. Trusting her abilities, we glided along the water for a while until we decided to head back to the resort.
After finally reaching the shore, I thought my friend had tied the kayak to a port, as she was standing, stretching. With a sigh of relief, I stood up to step out of the kayak. But, alas, the kayak had other plans! Without the rope securing it, the kayak swiftly drifted me back into the water, and I flipped over. I was thrown into the river like a mad cat. To make the situation worse, the riverbank was rocky and some trash were there. It was a dirty-soaking wet surprise, and it made her laughed so hard instead of helping me to get up. I ended up with some bruises due to the rocks.
With that experience, I have valued safety more than ever. What if the incident was fatal? From that day on, I thought I would risk saving someone from accident, so they will not end up severely injured. And maybe for a tougher situation, save someone’s life!

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13
