The Sun stood still and the Moon stopped
On October 30 in 1207 BC, the first ever solar eclipse happened. A man named “Joshua” ordered the sun to stand still. It’s the oldest recorded solar eclipse. The sun held its place and the moon halted. This event was essential in verifying the timelines of certain historical figures like the pharaohs.
Once I had a really difficult day, and having discovered this event gave me a ray of hope. There are times in life that we want to finish an enormous struggle in day. Unfortunately, we do not have all the means and options to resolve it in a short time. As a result, it would take time and that makes us even more anxious. We even spend time, energy and money going around searching for answers. Eventually, we get tired and frustrated. Yet, knowing that a prayer can stop heavenly lights from their usual routine is a great encouragement. This story of Joshua made me wonder what kind of god can hold both the moon and sun?
After a certain time of musings, I have arrived to a conclusion. Praying to a mighty God can help us redeem our time. His power can help us untangle the day’s challenge and embrace the next day as a victor.
