A Narrative Poem
Once I envisioned a life of action,
Of confidence, of plans thorough and full of sense,
Full of splendor and spectacle
That time could never bring an obstacle
But as days passed, the youthfulness faded,
And those around me did the same,
Reminding me that though we chase our dreams,
Age’s toll remains.
Once, I thought my life was a steadfast tapestry,
Woven through time with skill and certainty.
But as the seasons changed, the world began to shift,
Mountains became plains, plains became mists.
Rivers dried up, and oceans turned to land,
Making way for new shores and rising sand.
As nature transformed, my life’s journey took a turn,
And I realized the paths I’d planned, I’d have to unlearn.
For nothing have stayed the same over time,
the life I have imagined was challenged by time
