The phoenix gazes at a man of diamond,
tough, proud and his wisdom fully grown,
with elegance and brilliance, he stands tall,
a figure that commands respect from all.

But beneath that tough, unyielding face,
a hidden deceit, a hollow space,
the phoenix, fooled by pseudo strength and might,
mistakes him for a great patriarch of light.

But lo, through its piercing, laser gaze,
the truth was laid bare, a stark, harsh blaze.
reality clashed with what once was believed,
a disbelief that left the mind deceived.

perceptions were challenged, shattered with might,
unveiling the truths that hid from the light—
hard to accept, yet clear as the sky,
a painful truth no longer to deny.

In longing to reconcile, grief must arise,
the phoenix mourns, with sorrow in its eyes,
for the false beliefs, the feelings once bright,
now shadows that fade in the sorrowful night.

So much mourning for thoughts once so grand,
for the man of diamond, now shifting in sand,
a loss of the greatness that once filled the air,
now drifting away, leaving only despair.

Anger erupts with a fiery scream,
the so-called truth built on a shattered dream,
an illusion that blinded the trusting heart,
now torn apart, forced to depart.

Frustration brews, ugly and wild,
a bitter taste, so harsh and reviled,
for the man of diamond, once held so high,
reveals himself cold, with a careless sigh.

Time plants a seed, the fruit of disillusionment,
it shall grow and blossom into new perception,
a fragrance of reality, clarity, new direction,
youthful ideals shed, to accept our flaws instead,
finding new gems in their place, in wisdom’s embrace.
