The Coldness of a Man’s Heart
Gazing afar, the phoenix does sigh,
Recalling the cuckoo’s mournful cry.
Once deceived by the coldest prey,
The cuckoo weeps for man’s cold display.
A man once sought a warm embrace,
From a woman he yearned to trace.
But she, unaware of his gentle plea,
Was bound by rules, unable to be free.

Her heart confined by house’s reign,
She could not express, she felt the strain,
When the man drew near, with hopes so bright,
She saw it as danger, and fled from sight,
like a bride leaving her groom at night,
With grace and poise, she pushed him down,
his embarassed spirit turned into a big frown,
his heart now cold, like a diamond’s crown,
her silent sorrow left him apart,
a man now burdened with a frozen heart,
just like the man of diamonds’ heart.
