The Phoenix Bids Goodbye
The phoenix has welcomed the man of diamonds;
His weaknesses, overlooked through grace—
His ugliness, covered with praise, face to face.
Yet came the time his darkness grew,
A storm long hidden, now breaking through.
It grew like giant rainstorm clouds,
Towering high, loud and proud—
Over the bright island of diamonds fair,
Shadowing all that once shimmered there.
In disgust, the phoenix burned with rage,
And turned the last, most painful page.
She uttered a dreadful, thunderous cry—
The cruelest, final goodbye
Heard in the island of diamonds sky.
“This is the truth about “how you thought you love the way I lie”
Was it a mask?
Was it a game?
One of those dirty tricks with no name,
The ones I learned to watch and fear—
And now, I play them, loud and clear.
Was it a disguise?
Was it politics?
I was trained in quiet, sharp tactics—
I was made to live like this.
Did you like it? I bet not.
But did you bask in the glory, the spotlight hot,
And drink in the rounds of applause?
Oh, I’m sure you did—without pause.
But wait—here’s the catch.
It’s not a lie.
It’s not denial in disguise.
So—do you want to know what’s true?
There was no mask.
There was no guise.
There was no trust—
Just a heap of disgust.
And yet, you said,
“I love the way you lie”?
But there was no lie.
Nothing to deny.
No game, no scheme,
No political dream.
There was no love—
And you are nothing.
