Global IT Apocalypse: When Technology Crashes
Wow, I was taken aback by the news today about “Mass IT Outage across the World,” as the BBC News headline says. Many airports have been experiencing technical issues, resulting in passengers’ confusion and manual check-ins. The news we’ve heard about the worldwide IT outage sounds like a real nightmare for travelers and businesses alike. From airports to retail stores, it seems like everything is experiencing disruptions due to this mysterious issue. Itβs crazy to think that we rely so heavily on technology that a single glitch can cause this much chaos. The fact that people are receiving hand-written flight tickets is something I never would have imagined seeing in this day and age. It just goes to show how unpredictable technology can be and how quickly things can go wrong when it fails.
If I had a connecting flight today, and I would be in the airport while all this happened, I think it would be a disaster. The unexpected and unanticipated nature of this widespread IT outage has taken us all by surprise. In the face of such widespread technical issues, how would you cope if you were caught in the midst of the chaos?
