There’s a point when I realized paying attention to other people’s drama is taking a toll on me. Also, being kind and patient has been taken advantage of as I thought of it as a language of affection. Over time, I have perceived that too much compassion is seen as a weakness. It is also viewed as an asset for the opportunist.

I believe each one of us would like to live an inspiring life instead of something controlled and manipulated. That is totally unpleasant. Though we are coming from different, various background, there is always a common ground where we can see eye-to-eye.

I went out searching, looking for answers, and ways to act better on this. I found this book entitled, Surrounded by Idiots” by Thomas Erikson. As I began reading it, I am impressed with its wit. It gives you new lenses to understand people dynamics. Pair it with the “Power of the Plus Factor” by Norman Vincent Peale. Two books written in different times; old and modern, looks good to me.

If you cannot understand yourself, how could you deal with your differences from others?
