How have you adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic?

The Aftermath of Covid-19

Boosters to boosters, syringes in hand,
this substance helped me blend in this new land,
in the aftermath of the virus’s reign,
we extended our Lenten season of strain.

Tightening belts as the rains poured down,
isolating, gearing up, without a frown,
microbes emerged, spreading everywhere,
we worked from home or ventured with care.

On-site or live, work knew no bounds,
whether office doors locked, or silence resounds,
in the code red’s grip, we still found our task,
a wiggle room left, though tight was the mask.

Camouflaged, flexible, remedies we made,
adapted, survived, as the world swayed,
what makes us now, after COVID’s fight,
a resilient spirit, emerging to light.

You’ve done a really great job in using language to reflect the strange new reality we all had to adapt to. It makes me feel like I’m reliving those moments but also reminded of how far we’ve come. The subtle optimism in the final lines is inspiring. It’s a piece that doesn’t just reflect on struggle but also on how we overcame it! Beautiful work!

Thanks for taking time to read and reflect on the lines. You are right, we’ve come this far better and wiser from that experience.
You are such a wonderful reader. 😊 Thanks for dropping by. 🤍
