Describe a decision you made in the past that helped you learn or grow.

Progressive Independence

Almost ten years ago, I decided to distance myself from acquaintances who were posing as friends, but rather taking advantage of the things they get from others.

The transition was not easy, but it was pivotal that I began to learn emotional stability without depending so much on what they say.

I also realized that because I was so atuned with their perspectives, I never appreciated the other side of things which are way better than what they think.

When I tried opposite of what they say, there were positive gains I find. And the reason they advice otherwise so that they keep only the good in them.

This disengagement has freed me from exploitative acquaintances, improving emotional stability and discovering better perspectives than those offered by them. This involved acting contrary to their advice, yielding positive results.
